so it seems that most of the media (online at least i suppose) are telling me that i shouldn't like Miley Cyrus's Wrecking Ball:

but i like it! and the video doesn't bother me, i like it too!! *shrug* just thought i'd put that out there! am i the only one?

I'm not crazy about the video. To me, it just seems like blatant attention seeking. She said in an interview that it's about "vulnerability" not sexuality, the nudity - but then she's all licking that hammer suggestively and all, and other imagery that is clearly intended to be sensual and suggestive, and nothing necessarily wrong with that, but her interview just makes it seem phony, if that makes sense? She's using her body for shock value - which is fine, do that if you want to, but call it that, don't lie then and say that's not what it's about :P lol

The song on the other hand - it has haunted me since I first heard it. I'm shocked to actually LOVE it. :) It suits one of my angstiest ships perfectly and it gets me all choked up when I listen to it and crap. Now I have to actually LIKE something Miley Cyrus did. ;) lol oh, well :P

compared to other video's that are out there i don't think it's super crazy horific, like the internet seems to think. yes it is sexualized and there is nudity of sorts, but then so are other female artists video's. i do also think that it is done for attention and to provoke but then again so are others! i do think they are picking on her because they don't like her (as has been done with britney spears and others in the past!) and so everyone then jumps on the band wagon.
i admit i haven't read any interviews she's done so i can't really say anything about that!. i don't really have much of an opinion on her really, but when all the woohaa about her MTV awards thing (or whatever it was) and then this video was everywhere i kinda wanted to see what everyone was complaining about, and then when i saw it (the wrecking ball video, i couldn't find a video that JUST showed her performance at the MTV awards!) i was like *shrugs* what's the fuss about? visually it isn't a bad video and the song is actually pretty good, which i was surprised about!! i am in two minds about actually buying it though!!



on another note i freaking love her hair in the video though!!! :D

I agree that it's no worse than any other video that's out there, and if she wants to use her sexuality in that way, that's her choice, and not necessarily a bad thing...

It was the interview that made me kinda side-eye her :P

But the song itself is AMAZING :)

I'm MORE pissed off with that asshole Robin Thicke trying to put everything off on her and say that he didn't know what she was going to do, and that he didn't even "notice" what she was doing because for him it was "all about the music".

Yeah. Right. Throw the 18-19 year old girl under the bus to make yourself look good, you dick. Nice.

I do think Miley's been getting a very unfair rap lately :/

i do sometimes wonder if celebs like her have these people telling them all these things are good ideas and at the time maybe they are, but then afterwards they are like "okay now we have to make this sound good"!

this Robin Thicke guy just sounds like and absolute asrehole, and the kind of guy who would push someone else under the bus! as i saw miley say "he was at the rehearses too"

If you got the time and are interested in the "controversy" this article is great: When Your (Brown) Body is a (White) Wonderland. But to sum it up: Miley twerked (which is something white people should stay away from), teamed up with Robin Thicke (who is a gross rape apologist with a horrible song) and used her African-American backup dancers as props.
